Gita Jayanti Message from Jayapataka Swami
30th November 2017
To my dear devotees.
Today is the day when lord Krishna spoke the Bhagavat Gita five thousand years ago so we respectfully call this day as gita Jayanti since there is no difference in Lord Krishna and his words.
In every december we usually observe the gita Jayanti and this year Gita Jayanti falls on last day of November so this should inspire us to distribute many more Bhagavat gita and other books of BBT.
I saw Bhagavat gita on Srila Prabhupada’s desk in Mayapur. since usually we consider Bhagavat gita a beginners book. But Srila Prabhupada instructed me that Bhagavat gita was needed for preaching and it has essential information. Srila Prabhupada was indicating that he read Bhagavat gita regularly. So we should read Bhagavat gita atleast every year. Bhakti Sastri is also based on Bhagavat gita primarily.
Lord Krishna took up the role as Supreme spiritual master and guided Arjuna out of his illusion. This are important instructions for every one. Srila Prabhupada repeatedly referred to Bhagavat gita in his lectures. How many times we have heard from Srila Prabhupada that we are not this body and how purpose of human life is to know as much as possible about Supreme personality of Godhead. Srila Prabhupada saw that the in western world everybody was contaminated by the misconception that they were the bodies Americans, Chinese, European Indian. They think their body possess things such as wife/husband, children, bank balance, car, house etc. would be the source of happiness but they don’t know that this things do not bring satisfaction. Happiness and satisfaction comes when we are Krishna conscious. So let’s rejoice how lord Krishna has given us Bhagavat gita and how he came again as his own devotee lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu, to teach us how to follow Bhagavat gita, how to serve and love lord Krishna. Lord Caitanya and lord Nityananda are Radha, krishna and Balaram respectively. They have come to live the Bhagavat gita and to deliver all the conditioned souls who are rotting in this material world. All glories to gita jayathi.
Hope you have a successful book marathon.
Yours in service
Jayapataka Swami
