Today is the auspicious day of Sri Sri Rama Navami. Lord Ram when he was in Vanavas, he came to Mayapur. He came in the island of Modrumadwip, there he was smiling ,so Sita Devi asked why he was smiling. He said, “In this Yuga , I banish you to the forest and In Kali Yuga I banish myself to the forest and take Sanayas. When you are the forest I will worship a golden deity of you and in kali Yuga, when you go the forest, you will worship me in a golden form. Sita Devi was not very pleased, because either way she would be separated from the lord.
So Krishna says he comes to please the devotees and to annihilate the demons. ”Partranaya sadhunam, Vinashaya dhuskritam”, Actually he has many agents who can kill the miscreants. So he comes mainly to give pleasure to the devotees and also to give the devotes transcendental bliss. So Lord Krishna has so many different pastimes, so he also appeared as Lord Ram and then he also manifested wonderful pastimes. He was somewhat approachable as the King of Ayodhya, but to that extent that a king is approachable. He came to show that a king should be approachable. So many devotees could get the association of Lord Ram. Srila Prabhupada said, he was also showing how difficult it was in a relationship with a woman. Because Ravana stole Sita, he had to do a lot to get Sita back. Ravan is called personified Lust. When he wanted something , that was it! So that’s our position in the material world, we are serving our senses, we are serving our lust. So we should decide if we want to serve Lord Ram or Ravan. Those who want to serve Lord Ram, raise your hands. Hari Bol! Hari Bol!
