How Can We Help?

Question: I was wondering about the mood that when worshiping Caitanya Mahparabhu, we worship Mahaprabhu as Krsna and we put a peacock feather also when we dress Him, but sometimes I have heard this instruction that this disturbs the mood of Lord Caitanya. In what mood should we approach?

Jayapataka Swami:  We worship Lord Caitanya in the mood of Krsna. At that time Lord Caitanya and Nityananda are Krsna and Balarama. When They are together on the altar we worship Them in that mood and sometimes Lord Caitanya would wear a peacock feather. But in the altar we worship Him as like the 21 hour kirtan, the Mahaprakash. We worship Him as the Supreme Personality of Godhead who came to establish the sankirtan. So in the altar He is dancing sometimes with Lord Nityananda, but we offer Tulasi on His feet, we offer Him bhoga. So in His pastime on earth He would keep the facade as being the devotee of the Lord, but now we know who He is so we don’t hesitate to worship the Lord as an avatar of Krsna. Bahu dui jana Nitai Gauracandra Saba avatar sara siromani kevala ananda kanda. So we see Him as avatar, that He is Krsna Himself who came down to give out His devotion and love to everyone. He came and He established the sankirtan movement so that doesn’t disturb His mood. His mood on earth was that He was acting as a devotee. At that time He didn’t want to be disturbed but now He has gone back to the spiritual world so it is not an issue anymore to declare that He was Krsna! Haribol!
